  • Low Mpg

    Heya guys,

I have checked through the forum but not found an answer to my question :/. Ive got a 4 month old 90bhp diesel DS3 and it has been relatively good on mileage (60-65mpg) if i drive on motorways at 60mph. however recently and this maybe due to the cold weather the mileage has dropped to around 45-50mpg! I still drive the same watch the revs 'eco friendly' driving etc :P.

The one change that may also have effected it is my commute use to be 30miles to work however now its only 14miles so im not sure if this could have effected it aswel? The drop in MPG is pretty hefty and strikes me as a little odd :/.

Anyone have any ideas as to why it may have happened or any checks i could do on the car itself?

    Many Thanks,

    Mike

    Hi there

First 60 - 65 mpg is good for a 90 diesel (most seem to get around 58)
Cold weather does affect mpg downwards as will the change in journey to a shorter one.
Having said all that 45 - 50 seems a little low but I would not think low enough to start worrying!

    Cheers

i get 41 mpg out of dsport 150 thp on 22 mile one way. yes the shorter distance will bring it down. if i do 50 mile journey instead then have had 50mpg out of it. makes big difference believe it or not
