Rubber thingy on the spring coil.. wtf is this?? (pic)

Can anyone please explain why there are two rubber thingies on the coil spring (front) on my DS3R?

Looks like they're about to fall off at any time..

That was my first thought too.. although I don't see what function they would have other than perhaps raise the car a little to help transportation.

It's to reduce the bouncing about when it's on car transporter. You're best not to look how close they pack cars on if yours is one of them!

Haven't tried it without the bungs yet cause I don't have snow tires for it and it's like half a meter of snow here right now
Since the ride is pretty stiff I don't think I will notice taking out the bungs but I guess that cluncking sound when I hit speedbumps a bit too hard will go away
