There is a serious school of thought (been discussed on here before) that pushing the car from day 1 is actually better for the engine than so called running in. Must admit I have thrashed mine for over 40000 miles without a single fault!

mine is down to 24!!! not sure if its normal since ive only done 300 miles and no motorway drives.

its still 24 even though theres no sign of bad weather where i am, do you think im doing something wrong? such as not letting the car up for a while etc. do i have to do something about it like call citroen? fuel is killing me! £40 of diesel lasts me a week and i only do short city journeys

Can I just double check you have a diesel DS3 ? I think there may be something wrong if that's now your average MPG, my average this morning is still 56mpg and I am mostly driving around town at the moment. As I mentioned before I have the aircon all the time and yet am still getting twice as many mpg as you.

I would call your dealer and ask them to check it for you, does it feel rough ? Could one of the glow plugs be faulty maybe ?

yeah, thats not right mate, get it booked into a dealer to check over, silly question but theres no obvious leaks anywhere? when you move your car is there a pool of liquid left behind?

How short?

Diesels that only do about 5 miles or less will burn their way through fuel like crazy, the engine isn't getting hot enough as well as the build up of soot within the injectors which will cause the engine to clog and not run efficient.

Also I take it you are coming up with 24MPG by doing the maths?

If I am doing 66mph on motorway I get 58mpg as soon as I hit 70mph I get 38mpg.. bye bye DS3.. its being part exchanged got myself a new drive.

Umm quite some variations there!

My THP I get about 35-38.... if I exceed 40 I know I've not been doing what she's designed for - to be taken advantage of and floored! I work too hard to worry, life is too short, the smile she puts on my face is worth way more than a few more mpg (but seriously I appreciate it can matter given the current price of juice!)....

im not expert but that tells me something is wrong. On a 20mil motorway trip im getting 38mpg out of my golf GTI and thats with a boost leak. I'd get yours checked out.

I think both those eHDI's sound a little in need of attention. Even driving mine like Lewis Hamilton I don't get my average mpg down that low
