The other option so far as im experimenting is to have the main lights dipped on ALL the time with the leds day and night ;-) - - I am guessing the rear lights will also be on all the time - will check tomorrow...
So there are only the above two choices currently... currently.... and can be programmed via the lexia 3 - you also need the manufactures code to program the bsi which i have also. Once these settings are programmed into the ecu they are there all the time except they are overwritten when upgrading the ecu... which i can also do now .... I am hoping there is a fix in the latest ecu for my blackberry 9700 (see other post).... cheers, markLife's too short to grow up! ;0)

Thankyou Jimmy, would look into this more... I have been working on my partners van so have not done much work on the ds3 for a while... but hopefully today i can finish doing the sound system and then drive it to test a few things out.
Sounds strange why it thinks a door is open tho, or door handle pulled... will test
