Has anybody fitted a misfuel prevention device to their diesel DS3? If so, how have you got on? I'd rather be safe than sorry and spend a few quid now on something like this...

I believe Ford and some other manufacturers now fit something similar on all diesel models, but I've not seen anything about Citroen doing the same.

fantastic idea!! looks great - but no mention of fitting citroens ;-( is this because the flap does not lock and has a key on the cap it self? only problem i can see apart from it not fitting a citroen is that what happens when you run out and want to fill up with a jerry can,,, im assuming you can use the tool to remove it? has anyone else seen this that fits a citroen? nice one wbryan ;-)

That one does come with a pump sized removal tool for the jerry can scenario, but as you say, no mention of Citroen.

The thing is here, as already mentioned, is that Citroen does not use a locking cap but instead requires you to use the key to unlock the cap. This design is most likey intended to make sure that the driver has the key with them when they go to pay.

Best one i've seem is the Diesel Guard, it works like those greeting card and it cheap and simple!

Being that this is my first diesel car, I always give a second glance to the hose I've picked up just to be sure, but I don't think I'd ever require manually fitting one of these to the car, I just don't think I'd be that stupid.

Nearly made the mistake in a garage in Canada where the diesel pump was green and the petrol pump was black!

Can't we have some common standards???

Rob, I have a good friend who is a PhD who thought he'd never be so stupid as to put petrol in his diesel car and did just that!
