Started car up from cold and it started stuttering then whent into limp mode with an anti pollution fault stopped and restarted car slighly stuttered then ran ok seems to be a bit less responsive

anyone had anything similar or has any ideas as it has just ran out of warranty

also what diagnostics cable and software do you use with these cars

If youre just out of warranty, youre an early 10 model (Quick arent I)
This is a known problem with early THPs and could be a big issue.
If it is a big issue, bear in mind that they should deal with it (If its the known problem) and help you out, even if out of warranty. From an ethical point of view at least

May be a minor issue anyway- just get it booked in would be my recommendation

Have a look at Becks "juddering" thread
and search for "THP problems issues"
"THP Power loss" thread has the most info
Timing chain and tensioner issues, and carbonisation of jets. A few have had engines blow, pistons broken etc etc
Dont want to sound doom and gloom, but there have been issues such as these. Im a believer that people who dont have any problems dont post the fact much, so the problems may well be only a minority
Best way to find out is book your car in

Quick update
Been to garage and it showed 2 fault codes misfire in cylinder number 1 and 3 changed plugs and all four ignition coils at a silly cost and the problems still there any ideas as warrentys out and my pockets arent that deep

High pressure fuel pump

This is another part that failed on mine
Runs like shit until warmed up or the ecu relearned the low pressure

What is it with these HPFP- wonder if it were a bad bunch on older cars, or an inherent problem
Anyone know if theyve been upgraded since the early days?
