No one is saying that, the choice is up to you at the end of the day.

Things are cheap for a reason...

But they may not work without the additive either- and at least an additive you only put in for a month or 2 when its really cold, unless it goes all "Day after tomorrow" on us.
Agree with Biggie you get what you pay for. Premium fuel only in my THP

Was that pretty consistent use ? I am a diesel tart and tend to follow the best deals, locally this has been Shell and BP lately so not filled up at Tesco during the cold spell

My guess is if you have used them a lot and can verify this via receipts or bank statements you might be able to seek compensation from them

Everyone better get used to bio-diesel being added....its EU law and the percentage is only going to get higher over the coming years. Our 110hdi has been on Asda diesel from day one and now done 7000 miles without one single problem.

Ill bow to someone with greater knowledge than myself.....but I just cannot see diesel waxing causing so many problems....it really hasnt been that cold.

I can understand the cold causing diesel waxing but as you say I would expect more extreme cold than this to mess up modern diesels

The only reason I've commented is the fact I've worked in the oil refining industry for many years and I very much doubt this waxing is causing the problems. DPF regen problems in this cold weather is far more likely.

The diesel blend is changed at refinery level to combat the winter conditions......... ALL...... Petrol brands get their products from the same places ie either a refinery or storage facility. The products a refinery produce are very tightly regulated to ensure unified products across the industry. We supply Shell Esso morrisons asda just to name a few

I world hazard a guess that specific Tesco is having water ingress problems in their storage tanks in that case

No. Just how do you expect clogged fuel filters ,what this thread is about, to be caused by a exhaust particulate filter?
