  • Washer sensor not working

It has happened a couple of times now that the windscreen washer fluid runs out (just a drip coming on the screen) and no warning on the screen or service light on. It has worked once before... Does anyone have info if the sensor is replaceable or do I have to change the entire tank and pump? If so, is the change difficult. I see that the tank is inside the front bumper. Thanks!

The repair and parts manual does not show a level sensor or mention one that I could find. You sure you saw a low level message?

After CUK filled mine with plain old water at the 12,500 mile service, which then froze solid I had to replace the fuse on the wiper motors. I then sat on the drive to spray all the water from the bottle, when it emptied there was no low level indicator in the car that I saw. I just knew it was empty as I'd made it so (C) Star Trek....

Perhaps in Europe there is a sensor but it seems cyclone hasn't seen one either....

Yes there is, the SERVICE light lights up and there's a message on the fault log of the screen saying something like washer fluid low. And I have used -20C washer fluid all winter. Weird that only Europe would have the sensor and others don't.

I have never had a low warning and I have run out numerous times

I've never run out but I usually keep a container of screen wash in the boot, just in case.

Hmm, I checked both Finnish and English user manual and on the page about warning lamps and specifically SERVICE lamp it says that it lights up to indicate washer fluid level. Maybe it's broken for all of us :snowy0:  I'm pretty sure it worked before the last software update by Citroen...

I'm confused, I just looked at the DS3 owners manual (P27-34) which covers warning lights and there is nothing about the washer bottle fluid level, please can you confirm which page you're looking at ?

Edit - ok P21 does mention the service light coming on and gives examples of possible causes (which include screen wash level) I've never had this appear though and I have run out of wash twice now....

Well, I called my dealer and they said that DS3 doesn't have the sensor. So I remembered wrong and the manual page confused me.
