  • Some Questions

Hi all, I have searched the forum so my apologys if the answers have already been posted.

Right so I have to unplug the head unit tomorrow to add a parrot kit to the car. It advises you disconnect the battery so my questions are:

Which terminal is best to disconnect?
Will it affect the car if the battery isn't connected for a while (say up to an hour?)
I know on some cars you need a stereo code when you reconnect it. Does the ds3 require one? If so anybody know what this is or where to find it?

    Thanks all

I don't know how it works but there is no code for the stereo so you can disconnect the battery and it won't affect the head unit. I believe the head units are coded to the car or ecu by the dealers and don't lose that setting when disconnected.

When my dealer replaced my head unit due to ipod connectivity issues on the original unit they did it all at the dealer including reprogramming the new unit to the car

I don't know why but I always disconnect the + terminal on batteries but the negative is very easy to remove on DS3's, make sure you wrap it in something so that it doesn't slip and make a connection again whilst you're working on the car.
