Yep as it changes your car from manufacturers standard (which is how the insurance co insured your car). Get a quote from your insurer (if they'll cover the remap) and if not get some via comparethemarket.com and see if it makes much of a difference to your premium. It didn't for mine but then I'm 40....

However if they suspect a remap it's not hard to find out. Just plug the diag laptop in and put your foot down, the boost readings will give the game away!

Although my car is still broken (unrelated to the remap) and they found the invoice of the remap from almost day one they've still gone ahead with £3k worth of work and counting!

Depends on the dealership I suppose, some will just not tell Citroen as they'll want the warranty work for £££

Really? Do you have bricks tied to your shoes when you drive? I'm getting 45+ from mine

I dont really have the money to fix the car if anything goes wrong so am planning to wait another year for the warranty to expire before remapping.

Biggest reason for me to remap would be economy but more power would be welcome. Is it true most people get about 30 extra bhp from the remap?

@Zack, whats your mileage now?, also concerned about the longevity I do lots of miles and dont want the remap to make it go pop!
This is the same worry that I have and the more I read the more confused I get.

That's interesting, mine only changed marginally when I swapped from the AMG Merc to the DS3 (350bhp v 150bhp)

Sound advice I feel and the additional 20-30bhp does sound 'attractive'
