I have a query for everyone, and in particular those of you that have a perla black DS like me.
First up I should mention that I have never owned a brand new car before I bought my DS in March so I have nothing to compare my experiences with. Except, of course, with you fine people.
Since 1st March I have completed 3,200 miles, 2k of which were motorway/dual carriageway miles. However I think my car seems to scratch on sight. I picked up a stone chip on the bonnet driving back from the dealer on day 1!! There are scratches on almost every panel and I seem to pick up stone chips after every journey.
Yesterday I was washing the car when I noticed several blemishes in the paintwork that I havent seen before. They almost look like the marks bird poo leaves if you leave it too long. However there was no bird poo. I tried SRP, a little meguiars ultimate compound and even claying but nothing shifted them. I cant get a photo to show you because I need a macro lense.
I just wanted to know if all this is normal for a new car? I am starting to wonder if the factory screwed up and my paint job missed the top layer or something making it super susceptible to damage.
Any advice?
Thanks
