Phone prob: caller ID

Can anyone help with a slight issue i have with iPhone/caller ID prob I have:

When the phone rings with an incoming call, the main display just displays "answer" "yes" or "no" it doesn't display who is calling.

If I do answer the call, then it displays the number of the caller and not the caller ID...... am I making sense?!

Have I got to upload my directory some how?

All other features, phone book, music streaming works as it should do, via Bluetooth.

What phone are you using? This would allow other members to compare with you.

Do remember that the whole setup is dependant on the information given by the phone to the car and this does vary from phone to phone.

Hi I'm having the same issue my iPhone 5 pairs up great I can stream music make and receive calls but when I have an incoming call all I get on the car display is same as Markflyer "answer Yes - No

I paired my phone exactly as the manual says, "put phone in discovery mode the use the cars menu to perform a Bluetooth search, It finds my phone the enter a pairing number with the head unit buttons, enter the same on my iPhone I then get the message

paring successful" I can then access the phone book and recent calls but no caller display.

Mmm I wonder if this is an Apple thing ? I note Mark didn't confirm what phone he was using but I have an iPhone 4s and this does the exact same thing David, I followed all the correct steps and it appears to work perfectly apart from the non display of the caller information.....

For information I'm on Vodafone if that makes a difference.

The original poster says he is using an iphone its an iphone thing mine used to be the same so went to android and have hardly any problems

My iPhone 5 works fine with mine too. Maybe a software issue?

I might mention it when I next speak to the dealers, you might know that I had the previous DS3's head unit changed by Citroen as it kept freezing when calls ended and locking up the display (it stayed on) and functions.....

Can I ask both Cyclone and BeefMasta you both say that your phones work fine can you confirm for me that when you have an incoming call the car displays the name of who's calling?

And BeefMasta you say a software issue do you mean the software on the iPhone or the car?

I'm going to try with my sons phone he's got a Lumia 820 Windows phone and see what happens.......

Could be a software issue, I know the Fiats and Alfa's have to have a software update in order to use their phones, especially the iPhone. Most iPhone 5's are already compatible with the software in the cars but the older versions have to be updated.

Yep, definitely does this.

And BeefMasta you say a software issue do you mean the software on the iPhone or the car?

I meant possibly the car (due to lfcrule1972 having his headunit replaced for a phone related issue in the past) but I guess it could be the phone too. I'm running iOS 6.1.4 if that helps.

Thanks BeefMasta my iPhone is running 6.1.4 as well so it looks more likely to be the car I'll have to get in touch with Citroen see what they say.

I was told by the tech guy at my dealers that there were some issues between the head units and iPhones hence the replacement last year. The new head unit fitted appeared to fix the issues so was hoping that my new DS3 would have a unit with the newer firmware

Thanks lfcrule (which they do) I'm going to get in touch with my local Citroen dealership and see if there's any software updates they can perform and take it from there.
