Hey all had a bit of a bust up with a post and long story short smashed the drivers side rear cluster. Called Citroen its £140 for a new one. Was looking on eBay and can get a left hand drive one for £87. From what I can see the only difference between the right hand and left hand drive is the fog and the reversing light if I am using the original bulb in theory I think it should work as the lenses are the same, can any confirm this or have any ideas.

Hi,
I'm not sure I've understood you correctly, do you have a link to the eBay cluster you've seen ? I think you're asking if the cluster you've seen on eBay for a LHD DS3 would work on your RHD DS3 rather than pay for the RHD cluster for your car.........
If you can confirm my understanding and post a link to the one you've seen we should be able to help yousigpic

I noticed in the listing the Citroen part number is 6351JF. Do you know the part number of the light Citroen tried to sell you?

Looking at that link, the description says "Fitting position: right" and "with fog tail light". There is no mention of a reversing light. Surely, that means it is the right hand drive version? (ie correct for the UK). Otherwise, being the right-hand side, it would have had a reversing light instead of a fog light?Shark grey / white Vti 120 DStyle ordered 2 March 2013, built 23 March 2013, collected 20 April 2013

Speak to John Nicol / Ross,
You'll get the correct one for your car at a discounted rate and you'll rest easy knowing that you've got the right one on its way.

Hasn't this been discussed before?
I suspect that the light units are identical for both LHD & RHD cars, with only the bulbs different between part numbers.
That may sound odd, but it's logical if you consider the production process. Lamp units will be bought in from a sub-contractor, in this case apparently Hella, as a complete unit including bulbs. For stock control & scheduling purposes it's necessary to differentiate between the respective units, so separate parts numbers are generated.

Hey all thanks for the replies much appreciated. I am thinking the same as dave that the light units are the same and the only difference is the bulb holder and as I am going to be using my bulb holder it should work. In theory lol. Am going to order 1 in the next few day will let u no how I get on.

Good luck . . . if the "LHD" version is wrong you can at least have the consolation of knowing that you've answered the question for the rest of us!Last edited by DaveB; 14-05-2013, 09:02.
