Fuel Warning Beep

We knew what you meant mate, it seems that some models of DS3 have the one beep warning whereas the newer ones, like yours have multiple beeps. It's one of those 'nanny' warnings I'm afraid, I don't recall anyone ever posting to say they'd turned it off....

The 'beep' system is there really to protect the engine from low level fuel damage. If the car is screaming at you for fuel then you are sucking all the crap from the bottom of your tank into your injectors which isn't going to do your motor any good.

For those of you brave enough you can keep on driving and the car will with a final act of desperation omit an electronic engine misfire to tell you that you REALLY need to get fuel!

I got down to 2 miles left once in the DS3, 0 miles in the diesel Astra before that

Not being sarky here (Biggie - you know I value your experience) but I've never understood the crap in the bottom of the tank arguement, in my simple head the fuel drains from the bottom of the tank doesn't it ? If so and with the new fuels I'm surprised that any build up occurs.... :confused:

I know what you are saying, but still 1 beep is enough, the lit up pump light is enough to let me know that its low. Im not saying I want to drain it to the last drop, but if I'm warned at 60 miles, I know I can safely get home and still have 30 left.

I will assume that I will just have to live with it.

With prices of €1.70 for 1 litre of euro98 you look for every discount you can get!

I think that's similar to here FLP, I always look for the 5p or 10p a litre reductions at supermarkets

the prices change here every time when the ministers needs money.
but even i see when the prices are lower to get some fuel.
but like ifcrule is saying the prices are almost the same everywhere.

So far I'm not aware of them selling my details on although they do send emails asking registered members to assist with electronic petitions to MPs when fuel hikes are due.

I use this too, it's pretty good and you can set up alerts for Super Unleaded / Premium Diesel in addition to regular Petrol / Diesel.

Looks like with Shell and BP raided amongst others today that petrol prices across Europe are all bleedin rigged anyways- for the next 10 years they say. Scheisters.
