Head gasket issue

Hi, new to this. I love my DS3 dstyle plus 1.6, only had her since March 12, however, disappointed that having only done 6600 miles and it's having to have the head gasket replaced. Is this normal? The engine started to 'pink' after having interim annual service, purely coincidental? Thoughts welcomed

If 120VTI very unusual as it's a reliable engine. THP.... not so much.

Is it being done under warranty ?

My sister in law bought a new corsa at the end of last year - within 1000 miles, the head gasket blew. I'm not sure of all the details but i think it was caused by a coolant leak?? Anyway, engine replaced under warranty, courtesy car while the work was being done etc. I'm sure the warranty should cover it!

Definitely being done under warranty, have diesel ds3 courtesy car while they have my car for a week!
