  • Disappointment overload!

Well, what else can I say! Totally demoralized and left without much faith at all would be another way of putting it.

So, I popped my car into the dealers on Tuesday morning, was there for 8:10am as I was handing mine in for a loaner - first bit of disappointment, the bloke with the keys to the safe for the cars was late and didn't stroll in till 8:45am, they had my number, surely they could have rang me to let me know. Anyways, get the C3 and off I pop.

Anyway, today, was called to say the window rattle had been resolved, apparently some vibration from some fuel pipe or something was the cause, it had been sealed up and no longer an issue. So, leave work early and get to the dealers, happily swap back the keys and leg it. Not 2 minutes up the road, the resolved rattle issue reappears with a vengeance! Not only that, a couple of minutes later I get a warning on the display saying, 'Electrical or battery fault!' and the wee red battery icon lights up on my dash board.

So, phone 'em back, arrange to come back down and get the loaner again, which incidentally I'd been told wasn't available and that they needed it back - hence why I left work early. Not only that, but I'd filled the loaner up with more than enough to cover me the 2 days. I'd left my DS3 in with about 100 miles worth of fuel in it, picked it up and it had the fuel warning gauge lit up, pressing the trip button it told me I had about 20 miles of fuel left! Cheers Citroen.

All and all, I've been left feeling completely dejected over this whole thing. I was in such a rush tonight as I had my sons swimming gala to attend, having to drop him off first then going back to Shitro-, sorry, Citroen. Luckily, the bloke who sold me the car was there and I let him know the score. This is TWICE now that I've had to take it back after the initial fault was not resolved, albeit different faults, but I've got very little faith left now in them in regards to fixing the car.

Never thought I'd be in this shit situation, but if somethings gonna happen, it'll usually find a way of happening to me.
Not impressed at all, almost scared about leaving it there again - cause I honestly don't know if they are even bothered about resolving these issues that are covered by warranty.

Anyway, rant over. I'm going to open my bottle of 12 year old WL Weller that I was saving for Christmas and get myself nicely drunk.

    Fuck mate, sounds wank.

How long have you had the car now? May be worthwhile reading through your finance agreement, finding something they aren't upstanding too and threatening with returning it.

Got it the back end of June mate, been great apart from these wee faults. It's not overly bad either the faults, it's just the experience with the dealership when actually trying to get them resolved.

It's almost like how I'm having to deal with my 2 year old, tell him to do something once, he doesn't do it, tell him to do it again, maybe, third time usually is a charm! Bit of a shame that comparison, but to be honest, that's exactly how I feel.

Cheers for the hug by the way, although I'm temporarily imagining you as a young woman that looks like Jessica Alba!

I really feel for you on this - sounds like they don't have a clue what they're doing, & don't give a stuff either way. Window rattle = vibrating fuel pipe just doesn't compute - I've never come across a fuel pipe that was routed through the doors...

Try not to let the bastards grind you down (although if I were you, after this latest incident I'd be looking for another dealer to sort out my problems, as this lot sound like a bunch of clowns).

LOL, cheers lad, that's given me my first laugh tonight!

And, I wasn't aware you could take it to any Citroen dealership for repairs, that include repairs done on the warranty? Also, I've got my first service due up in the next couple of weeks, really don't want to use these guys, for all I know, they'll just reset the service counter and say it's been done. Could do with some advice on what to expect from a first service on a new car! If I ever get a new car!!

Yep, the warranty's valid at any dealer. Some dealers can be a bit sniffy if you didn't buy from them - eg, they may not be so ready to provide you with a loaner - but in my experience there are always dealers who will be happy to get their hands on another customer, in the hope that you'll give them all your service/warranty business and, in due course, buy another car from them.

Should be able to take it to any Citroen dealer...the Warranty should be with Citroen rather than the dealer.

The guys are right Rob you can take your DS3 to any Citroen authroised repairer for warranty work to be done.

I take it that you did go a for a drive with your current dealer and show them the noise? Sounds like that they are looking in the wrong place!

It's a shame Citroen doesn't publish their CSI lists anymore. You used to be able to, as a dealer, to see how you were scoring compared to others in your zone and national too. Citroen withdrew the lists because, wait for it..., the bottom dealers complained that it wasn't fair and was showing them in a bad light!!!

I think that Citroen should have stuck to their guns and kept the lists available, tough luck if your dealership is at the bottom, if your providing crap service then people should know, and the answer to the problem lies squarely in the dealers hands.............get your house in order and shape up.
Personally I have had dealings with 4 Citreon dealers, the 1st was excellent then for some reason best know to themselves they dropped the brand, the 2nd was good until they were taken over by another company, then they went downhill fast. The 3rd dealer who I have been with for the past 4 yrs has been excellent, but unfortunatly when I wanted to buy a DS3 they couldn't meet my time scale or price so I finally bought from a dealer in Derby on an internet deal who were very efficient but can't comment on the service side.
The other "local" dealer I have had some dealings with were also pretty useless when it came to buying the new car and I doubt that I'd go near them again.
So far I have only had a couple of minor issues with the DS3 and visited my local dealer yesterday, no hassles with them doing the warrantee work, just took the reg. no and got all the vehicle details via their computer system. will comment further once the new part has been got and fitted.

My Dealer is Bollingmores in Woking

Maybe we should all name and shame the crap dealers, and also name and praise the good ones.
