  • Seafoam.

Hey dudes, just wandered if anyone had any experience of Seafoam. Obviously owning a THP I'm aware it likes to gunk up a bit, wandered if this was an easy do at home solution. Or weather its all a load of jack?

Saw this on the net, in-case you were wandering what I'm on about.

(Did a quick search didn't find anything.)

This is what Bmw and Citroen use to "clean your valves" their first step in thp troubleshooting except they spray it in.

For them to troubleshoot something surely that would indicate there's an issue.

As far as I'm aware from Citroen the THP's don't have any issues..

Yes it does clean some of the crap off the valves only problem is that it comes right back due to the way the engine works. Wouldn't do this just cleaning just because only if had a problem. From what I understand it is strong stuff they even change the oil after just in case some gets by the rings and into the oil

Okey Dokey. Was just thinking as I'm coming up to 40k miles I could give it a freshen up. However "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" springs to mind!

OMG...I wouldn't ever do this.....regardless of claims that it cleans
As you say, "If it aint broke........."
