There was noway I could keep the old car even if they had repaired it AGAIN because the warranty was running out and I had lost all trust in the car so the new one is costing me another £60 a month .............................but its only money

Question on servicing. Bought my lady second hand with very low mileage (155HP Sport Plus). She's now just gone past 2300 miles and will be a year old on the 6th of August. The servicing counter is telling me that I need to get her serviced within 500 miles.

Surely as she has done that little mileage it is not needful for the service yet?

I'll agree with that, but as she has been rarely used (spare car for a garage I believe) before we bought her, she's not been on the road at all.

As monkeynuts said. That's yearly for the newer cars and every 2 years for the older ones if it does not do the mileage first. Had the same on mine 2 year inspection and less than 10k miles

After feeling how hot it gets under the bonnet of the 155
it DESERVES more frequent oil changes !
And if the main problem with the 155 is bad chain and tensioner
then old/boiled oil really isn't gonna help ?

Yep will have to live with it, still bloody annoying though! It will have to wait until we get back from a long weekend in Wales!

Just a reminder that the service needs to be done within limits set out in the service manual or warranty can be compromised

Oh yes ! They'll USE it to wiggle out of ANY claim.

                                Don't forget, it's EVERY 1 Year or 12, 500/20, 000
                                But, WHICHEVER COMES FIRST.....
So it's gonna need one every 12 months REGARDLESS
of mileage (it DOESNT mean you can leave it till the mileage
                                is reached !)
