  • Rear parking sensors..

Noticed recently that the parking sensors are going crazy beeping when i am in reverse, even if there is nothing behind me!

Sometimes a warning triangle on the parking sensor display appears too..

Would it be repairable under warranty? car is 2 and half years old, ds3 sport.

    Thanks

Don't know about a warning triangle.....
I imagine they would be covered under warranty. And I'm not being funny, but are the sensors clean??

If there really is nothing behind, then I'd get it into the dealers for a check, a quick clean would save you embarrassment if the sensors are dirty rather than faulty though

Sounds like a failed sensor to me, the warning triangle will appear when you reverse up to an object and reach the 'point of no return'. Because of the failed sensor the system thinks it too close to something.

Think of the sensors as a heartbeat monitor, when you get the flat line STOP!!

Yeah on mine the bars appear behind or to the side of the car graphic depending upon where the hazard is, they start at 1 bar and mild beeping and go to three bars and manic beeping. Biggie leads me to believe that you also see a warning triangle and flat line beep too when you are v close to the obstacle.
