  • Disable eTouch/Assist buttons

    Hi all,

Is there an option to disable the buttons in the car. Every time I look at them I think how easy it looks to accidentally activate them when cleaning or if i have someone in the car who likes to play with things.

    Thanks

You might have to ask your dealer to do it, I've not seen anyone discuss doing it at home. I've never set mine off by accident and if you did you can hold the button to cancel it

I pushed it when just got the car and was startled when the car started to talk to me. just explained it was unintentional and was sorry. They said don't worry about it happens all the time. So wouldn't worry if you push it by accident. Nice to know it's there if needed.

The buttons only work when the engine is running and if you occidentally push one and activate it just press the button down for about 8 seconds to cancel.

If memory serves you can disable the SOS system but you will need to sign off a disclaimer first.

Hmmm... So what happens if you break down and the car won't start?
Cancelling seems straight forward just hope I never need to do that. Guess I get paranoid that it'll get accidentally pressed and don't want to be seen as making a nuisance call

That happened to me with SOS button . Driving home with CD player cranked up n heard voice, turned stereo off n was Police . Lady was lovely, seems they activated tracker n was traffic car using that n sat nav to find me !! She cancelled that n had to answer lots of security questions before she ended the call . She did say that if I saw any incident or crash to press the button to get 999 assistance . I hadn't activated it but she asked I call Citroen about it n put note on that car cd have a glitch , if it happened again. It's not happened before or since n Citroen said could be interference from level crossing but will check the car for me . I was shaking n had visions of traffic car screaming up behind me wanting me to stop .

Not sure what happened there as you can't just press the button lightly to turn it on, you have to hold it down for at least 2 seconds before it will start.

Did you have something in the forward cubby hole that could have been leaning against the button?

It can be disabled completely with Lexia.

^ Very true but Citroen Dealers are instructed to make customers sign the disclaimer before doing the job.

To be honest I can't see why you would disable it in the first place.
