  • Seat belt issues with our Ds3 dStyle

    Hi,

My mum has a Ds3 dstyle 1.6 and she is having issues with the seat belt. This being that when she gets in the car and tries to put the seat belt on it keeps locking every couple of inches that you pull out. It does this even if the car is on flat surface. Some of the time it works correctly but mostly does not. She mentioned it at the recent service and they said that there was nothing wrong with it. Even though there cleary is. Has anyone else had this issue with their DS3? If so what was needed to fix it as I would hope that a seat belt would last for more than 2 years.

    Regards

    Russell

Does not sound right when pulling the seat belt a a normal speed it shouldn't keep locking up like that. You Mum isn't pulling it fast or jerking it is she? No jokes please! If it really is broken then the whole assembly would need to be replaced as it is a safety system.

    BTW Welcome!

No she just pulls the belt out normally and rather than it coming out of the bulkhead it keeps locking.

Would take it back to Citroen and show them that it is locking under normal use and then when they say its ok go to a new car in the showroom and show them that you are right. Just remember to be polite but firm.

My passenger belt went in week two, wouldn't retract back in. Popped to my dealer and was replaced under warranty

As will anything that is related to the safety of the car take it to your dealer, as suggested have you Mother try the seat belt in another car (DS3/C3) to show the service team what it is you mean.

With the seat belt the whole unit will need to be changed.
