Brake Lights on all the time

I have a DS3 2013 model and have just been informed my brake lights are on all the time? Anyone have any ideas, it went back to the Garage after I had it two weeks with a permanent fog light which was sorted out.

Sticking brake switch under the pedal, wires touching/cross connecting behind the light cluster, or, pinched wiring somewhere round the car where you've recently done work

You could take the fuse out which controls the brake lights, and see if they still stay on (As under warranty, wouldn't bother- send it back)

My money on the brake light switch under the foot pedal
Rethinking that- if Citroen have just done work on the lights, then they may have caused it

Would agree with Chris that the brake light switch is the main suspect here, have a reach around the back of the pedal and feel for a little button and see if there is any dirt blocking it. It's a very cheap part to replace if there is anything wrong with it.

The brake switch will probably be on the passenger side, up behind the glovebox - one of the quirks of a LHD conversion.

Just in case anyone else runs into this issue, I have just rectified it! Brake lights were on permanently.

The brake light switch is, as suggested in the last post, on the passenger side of UK cars.

There is a connecting rod running the width of the car from the brake pedal. Where that terminates, you will find the switch.

Remove the cover under the glove box, three pop out plastic rivets. Locate the green switch, and rotate 1/4 turn anticlockwise to remove from holder.

It works rather conversely to what I was expecting - when fully extended the lights are on, when depressed they go off.

The rod that moves in and out can get pushed in so it can no longer fully extend. Just needs pulling back out with a bit of force to fully extend and refit.

Even the guy at my local Citroen dealer said the switch was on the brake pedal itself ......... !!
