  • Question from Spain, condensation in headlights

    Hello
We encountered a problem on some cars in Spain and wanted to know if you have found a solution.
When driving in rain or washing the car, condensation occurs in the headlights. It also affects LED lights.
This can not be normal but the sellers do not correct the defect.
Attached some pictures for you to see what I mean.
Saw that a guy had same problem and getting his LEDs fully replaced, but still don't know if he's problem was solved. (No feedback)
I'm posting too on FR so if i get any solution i'll update here.
    Thanks for the help!

My Citroen dealers have agreed that the LED unit in question is faulty and are going to replace it, they had the part on order which has now come into stock, but due to the appalling weather conditions here I haven't been able to get to the dealer to have the work done. The problem only affected one of the led units and so far I haven't had any issues with condensation in the headlights.
Will update thread when work is done, am also going to try to get the led's reprogrammed so that they stay on ay least with the sidelights, preferably with headlights as well (Have been advised by our resident Citroen guru John Nicol that this is possible).

The Owners Handbook says that misting on the internal surfaces of the headlamps & rear lamps is normal - page 102 of the English version, page 97 of the Spanish version.

When does "acceptable" misting cross the line and become an issue,
I would think that when it is present 24/7 then I would class it as a fault and not a random issue that can be disregarded.

As far as i know, having led's and headlights on together is not allowed.
            At least in Spain.
Anyway, please, post how to do that. Using Lexia maybe?

Hey Baloo, never had any issue with condensation inside the LEDs or Headlights.

A bit off topic but where from in Spain are you from Baloo?

Its was a known issue on my old Seat Altea all models had it
Think a lot of new cars got that issue, might be because they are now completly sealed due to wents letting air in and out to actually help get the measture out of the headlight,.
