Door scratch...

Someone exited my car from the passenger side and has obviously hit it against something!

Furious is not the word.... Any ideas how to nicely touch this up?

Someone WTF I think had a touch up kit for stone chips. That should work on the door edge chips also. I just do not remember what it was called.

Chipex kits have been popular. I used on my bonnet. Site is really handy also re paint codes.

Ordered a black paint from citroen.... Interestingly we had some issues finding the red...
Tried various systems and all said car was white. Turns out they can't get the red paint just yet!

I'd do something like this: (copied from one of my other posts):......




Before I started I measured all paint depths around the length of the scratch.

OK, after prep (thoroughly clean scratch) some paint filling (flipping hard, you try getting paint in JUST the scratch, and paint that starts to dry fast too!!)

So after filling, leaving it to dry, I flattened it out using wet and drive sandpaper (that scratches the paintwork, makes it very dull).


After sanding, before polishing (looks awful at this point, heart in mouth!, no not really, lol):





Found a few stone chips on the bonnet and a couple of deep scratches, one needed sanding, ah well in for a penny in for a pound:


After all this I got out my trusted Flex rotary and used Autobrite polishes, I won't detail the polishing, you're probably all bored of me now...

Results, I hasten to add you can still see it, but it's better, I'm reasonably pleased for a few quids worth of paint, hope my mate's fiancee is pleased too
