Can you upload a photo for us to see what it looks like?

I don't think it can be done with a product like polish, my dad had that on his mercedes alloys, he had to get them completely refurbed, its usually when water gets in the back off something and just sits there, its corrodes after a while.

You could always just vinyl wrap over the chrome parts, to any colour you wish.

How long have you had the car? Still under warranty?

Yeah I'm with Adam I don't think plastic chrome can be cleaned up if the white is under the finish, we might have a better idea tomorrow if you're able to get some pics up.

I polished mine with some menzerna polish to get rid of some oxidization on the chrome fog light surrounds, then applied some wax to protect them.

After washing mine all the chrome bits go a bit cloudy for some reason (front trim, fog light surrounds, baguettes, etc.), but Autoglym Super Resin Polish brings them back with a mirror finish!

It's not actually a very abrasive polish so it's fairly safe to use on chrome-painted plastic.

I used some "chrome polish" paste on the stainless steel side strips. They seem to get "cloudy" after winter/salt. Didn't have to rub much and after a hard wax on a local shop, mirror finish again.
