  • THP155 - The Fun Goes On

So having had a cracked water pump replaced and a thermostat assembly, last week I got the yellow serice light and a message saying engine fault - repair needed. The engine felt like the turbo had ceased to funtion. I took it back again to my local dealer who allegedly replaced the turbo pipe which had apparently split. All this in a car only 12 months old.
Lo and behold whilst driving from Newcastle to Cumbria this morning the same fault ocurred again. Initially the car seemed to go into limp mode, but then improved to somewhere between limo mode and normal driving. I'm now concerned that I've got a THP155 equivalent of the THP150 problems.
Booked into the dealer again tomorrow - the fourth time in 6 weeks. No courtesy car available.
I will not be buying another Citroen after this.

Are you sure you have a THP155 engine? (If your car is 12months old..) I thought those engine were fitted from November 2012. Correct me if I'm wrong...

The main problem with some 150s were timing chain/tensioner, pistons in some cases, and the PCV system, and consequences of those
These issues haven't crossed over anywhere near as much on the 155 (As some alterations were made) - in fact have only seen 1 on here that's had issues as the 150 had them

Sorry to hear your problems Alimac, seems you may have got a Friday motor

Would guess the problems you are having (Split hoses) may all eminate from high temps with the failure of the water pump

        But hey- just guessing
Really hope it gets sorted for you, and post up what the latest issue explanation is when known

edit- think 155s first made Jan 2012
It was the 3d rear light Late October 2012 that were fitted

Mine is THP 155 and I bought it in June 2012. I'm sure Bigfeet can confirm the date when they changed over.

An update: on my return journey the Service light simply went out and full performance was restored. When I got home I looked in the engine compartment and found that a pipe had been "repaired" by wrapping some fabric around where the split must have been.
I've taken some photos but can't seem to upload them.
Anyway, I've e-mailed them to the Service Manager at the garage who have the car in again today for repair.
