sure, well most reviews i have seen from the ZX1 are from Halfords. you can get it far cheaper elsewhere however.

If you really want to smoothen the idling and quieten the engine then try some Extralube ZX1, put some in mine last week. I've used this stuff on loads of cars, Petrol and Diesel, its not an oil additive but a Metal Treatment. it coats all metal surfaces to reduce friction, I have never known anything like this, its not PTFE etc. if you watch the video it shows the friction protection against standard oil. it definitely protects a cold engine much better than standard oils.

Video looks good but reading the MSDS http://www.team-zx1.com/assets/MSDS_..._SEPT_2007.pdf this stuff is 10 to 20% naphtha. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naphtha not so sure about putting that in my oil.

??? you're looking into it far more than is needed, its a metal treatment, not an oil additive, reviews on halfords, amazon, and others says it all really.

When mine started to run rough on start up it was the high pressure fuel pump failing
Tick over was as rough as a Badgers Arse

I know it's a bit late to be pedantic but I am Grammar Nazi after all so here goes.
Ruff = small wading bird Philomachus pugnax
Rough = THP engine noise at best.

Do Citroen garages offer the walnut shell decoke that some mini dealers are offering now?

Doesn't the head need to be removed to do this?

Much appreciated hints and tips peeps but this does all sound rather scary and I think I will put up with it. Adding liquids and removing heads is a bit much.

If it continues and gets worse I will just take it back to the garage.

Fair point- the oil change was a good shout though, using the recommended stuff
