  • Fuel Gauge

    Hey guys,

Don't know if anyone else is having this problem or if it's just me? but i was wondering if anybody else fuel gauge is really inaccurate?

Like it will say 85 miles one minute then half a mile down the road it will be 82 / 78..

I'm just wondering because if it is only mine i'll take it back to the garage and get them to have a look?

also at about 18 Miles it will switch to ---- ?

What you are looking at is the Range Counter within the Fuel Gauge, it calculates on the fly as you drive hence the change in numbers.

The dashes are to inform you that you have reached the lowest level the car can monitor.

its bound to alter 50 miles at motorway speed will have a different fuel impact to 50 miles at 30 so it updates to reflect recent driving

So to sum it all up, yes it is normal.

            This.

Depends on how heavy footed you are, the computer bases the range on your recent average mpg.

I've had the range of a full tank vary from 320 miles to 560 miles.
