Thanks Aidan, the reason I'm going this route is to draw a line in the sand. I lost all confidence in what my dealer was or was not doing some time ago so to ensure I know everything is at it should be i'l just replace things, cost effective no but at least I know when I'm away the wife is driving round in a safe and serviceable car. Hence the new tyres, brakes and engine parts.
Waiting to do an oil and filter change myself after taking the car out on a track and giving it a heavy time
I dsay that its real important to be on a flat to measure the oil- if on a slight incline oil reads half full
Camber is the most inaccurate- if car leans away from dipstick even just a bit, it can read that its almost empty
If the engine is even slightly warm when putting your hand just above it, you wont get a true reading
ATM in this weather its about 6-8 hours before an accurate reading is gained IMO
