  • 20,000 service

Just had my thp in for its service at evans halshaw in hull where I live, nothing major apart from the bracket holding the back box had corroded so they welded it back on under warranty also changed my brake fluid
no charge too. Cleaned and hoovered too for a grand total of £165.00 so fairly happy.

Interesting - I had the same fault on a service - back box bracket, maybe a weakness?

They told me it was a common problem on all DS3 models and now they weld it first but if it goes again they replace the back box.

Yeah it's a common fault on the DS3's and should be replaced under warranty. We have no end of back box's coming in to stock and down to our workshop.

Hmm, can you see the bracket without lifting the car up?

I'm sure you can, the two brackets that holds the exhaust on corrodes at the weld from the exhaust itself.

Aiden, what sort of timeframe from new are we talking, this is something else that may have needed doing on my car in the last three years but was never mentioned by my dealer when I asked "any problems" after each service.

Mine was replaced after just over 2years, some are less and some are more but definitely worth a look. Probably best to have a word with the dealer to have a quick look at just this issue as it has been quite common with in the past year or so.

Cheers Aidan, it wont be with a Citroen Dealer, not until I find one I can trust. My dad has put me onto a guy who is a long time independent Citroen mechanic and enthusiast, he looks after my dads CX for him, il get him to have a look when he fits the new discs and pads.

I took a quick look, I saw a metal band around the back box which is tightened with a bolt. Didn't see the welds (yet).
