Thanks everyone for their posts, had the same problem with my washers and thought I would have a quick check on here first to see if it was just me or not. Saved me a 70miles round trip back to the garage I got the car from for a simple fuse costing a few pennies :-)

Hope this helps.
Imagine upgrading a fuse in an appliance at home by 50% because it kept blowing. Just asking for trouble.

That or take the car back and refuse to take it back off them until they give you a set of new washers and ECU.

It seems to me that the 10 amp blade fuse if v touch and go on capacity for the washer motor, therefore Ross's suggestion seems v sensible to avoid having to keep chaninging the fuse..... I replaced mine a couple of weeks ago with a 10amp but if it goes again I am changing up to a 15amp.
Not a good move to slate a reply from Ross who is v helpful to forum members and who explained this is how the Citroen dealer he works for sorts this problem....sigpic

The big reason why the fuses pop is because people are being lazy, your wipers are not ice scrappers and if water doesn't come out on the first go then don't sit there holding the washers on thinking it will help!
Also make sure you fill up with proper screen washer that is correctly rated for the right temperatures and NEVER to the top, always leave some room just in case....I should never have doubted the Lord of Bacon!!

Lol and me the other week, I had scraped the windows clear though, what I hadn't counted on was CUK putting water in my bottle when they 'refilled' it during the 12,500 mile service
I only ever put the heavy duty screen wash in when my windscreen became all salty I tried to clean it hence the blown fuse..... I have some spares now though so will deffo go for the 15amp if it happens again.sigpic

In any profession, in modern day, upgrading a fuse simply because it keeps blowing is incompetent, in my opinion. (Surely finding the cause and rectifying it makes more sense?)
I don't think I was 'slating' him. Simply saying I wouldn't be happy if my dealer attempted it.
And, for the record, I'm sure he is very helpful.
But, I think it's a good move to point out that his solution may not be the best.

On a side note my guess is that Citroen fit the rated fuse as precaution for protection of the pump, fair better for the fuse to pop rather than the pump its self.
But in this case any slight blockage (frozen jets) will make the fuse go so I think that Citroen were being over cautious, the 15 amp replacement is a tried and tested fix designed to give you just a little more without causing any harm....I should never have doubted the Lord of Bacon!!

My washers stopped working yesterday, I'm taking the car in tomorrow to have a look. I'm guessing the fuse (hopefully). If it's the motor, will that be covered by my warranty?
To be honest with you by the time the dealer has submitted the claim it's easier for them just to give you one....I should never have doubted the Lord of Bacon!!
