  • Rough idling

    Hey guys

My car's been doing this for a while now .. Any idea what could it be? And is it serious?

    Couldn't really hear anything.

Any chance you could open the bonnet and record from the front of the car?

Like Liam I couldn't hear anything, are you talking about the small blip around 1000rpm after you've blipped the throttle ?

yes, the RPMs drop and rise after I blip the throttle, is that normal ?

It never did that when I first got it.

I haven't noticed it on my diesel DS3 but it seems to me that it's the engine/ecu (I'm not v technical ) settling on the normal idle rpm after you blip it..... I wouldn't be worried personally.

Does it only do it the once after a rev blip ?

It's always like that! that's why I'm a bit worried.

Also, when I first got it, when I start it in the morning it would idle on 1500 for a few minutes then would go back to 1000 or 900 RPMs. Now it doesn't do that, so I'm thinking a faulty sensor somewhere?

Maybe there is something wrong. Mine doesn't idle that high ever, even if it's -20C outside.
