  • Esp / asr fault

Hi, ESP / ASR FAULT along with a loud hissing noise when under load, some loss of power and no cruise control?? Any ideas anyone? Thanks :-)

Just an update, engine light came on along with 'engine fault, repair needed' after a check under the bonnet I found the jubilee clip holding the orange hose onto the top of the intercooler was loose, not even finger tight and the hose was half hanging off!!! Back on and tightened up, the car is perfect again and feels quicker then before, I wonder if its been loosing power since new? (6 weeks old!) anyhow...... CHECK YOUR HOSES ;-)

Thanks for the update Paul, it seems Citroen are good at not tightening things correctly.
Glad you got it sorted mate

Good advice I also had a hose come off. The one where it attaches to the intake manifold for me.

          Nice one Paul
Shows that some problems can be sorted with a quick look under the bonnet, even if the person
knows little about the workings (Not suggesting you don't)

Just glad I didn't have to take it into citroen, just a huge hassle! Tell you what though, it sounded awesome hearing the hiss of air under full throttle, took me back to my impreza days! Lol can't believe something so simple can affect so many things? ESP???

If you mean on the dash display? It just said ESP/ASR fault along with Engine Fault Repair Needed!

I think by fault codes Chris meant the ones direct from the ECU, you'd need an ODB2 reader to check that. If you've taken it to the dealer they should be able to give you these and one of us on the forum can hopefully give you more information on what sort of repair to expect.

As far as I'm concerned its sorted now?? Or am I missing something? No warning lights on and it runs perfect!

Nope- if its running good, and no fault codes then you should be OK
Well done for spotting the broken clip

I had this a month or so ago, don't know how to link the thread (sorry!). Same thing happened to me, brought the car to citroen and they had to replace the accelerator pedal, there was a fault with the accelerator pedal sensor - might be worth getting it checked out by them anyway!
Never worry, found the thread lol Here
