Leaving work today slid on black ice into a curb hitting my front right wheel hard (tyre rather than alloy) but now my steering is out of line and my cruise control doesnt work any more. The limiter works but cant get it for cruising! hope it isnt an expensive job to fix :s

Your brakes working fine? Was wondering if you have knock the ABS sensor out of whack, I believe that the crusie control is linked into the ABS system.

wouldn't the speed limiter also be linked?

Not sure but my understanding is that the limiter is only tuned into the ECU.

A suggestion would be to pull the 'shunt' fuse out, count to ten and pop it back in again. This will hard reset the car and all it's systems. Pop open the fuse box in the glove box, and your looking for a grey fuse with a green middle bit. It should be easy to spot, notice which side it sits in as the fuse has two locations.

Give that a go and see if it sorts the problem.

Never mind the cruise control not working (for the moment), if the steering is out of line then surely he needs to get it checked out as there could be damage to the track rods etc

The cruise control is working again!just worked as normal when i got back in my car late last night.

As for the steering i fear it will be something like the steering link/arm that is possibly bent. spoke to my local citroen garage and service is back open on the 28th so i will have to wait until then! There is no visible damage as i only hit the front right tyre but it was with some force because it actually removed some of the paint from the alloy even though i hit the curb with the tyre rather than the alloy. I hope is isnt too expensive

yeah brakes are fine and there are no weird noises, i just have to angle by steering wheel about 5 degrees to the left to go straight

Depending on the speed at which you hit the kerb, you may need nothing more than your tracking to be reset. Done properly, this will get your steering wheel back on centre, properly aligned with the road wheels.

hit a pot hole the size of a small country this morning on the way to work, chipped my alloy only slightly. and the tyre was ok thankfully. trackings out like a bitch tho!

got it repaired - £289 inc labour. Parts had to be shipped in from France as they had none in the UK. I had bent the steering arm so it had to be replaced.
