  • 16" Steel wheel Tyre Pressures

I cannot find an answer in the Search box
    Question:
Anyone know the correct tyre pressure for 16" steel wheels?
Having just fitted Winter Wheels and tyres and gone down to 16" from 17", the Tyre pressures are not displayed on the car plate and are not in the Manual

Well I would presume the recommended pressures are 2.4 bar for 16" and 17" wheels. I don't think they are different with alloys.

Could someone with stock 16" wheels check the sticker on the door frame to see if it is 2.4 like the 17" wheels?

Not a Citroen sticker/manual confirmation but found this on Google:

            http://www.tyre-pressures.com/byCar/...en/24174/26928

Seems to confirm the pressure is 2.4 bar or 29 psi

I've just put mine on too, and used the pressure shown here 35 psi!

My car originally had steel wheels which I now use for winter.
The spec. inside the door is as follows:

Normal load 2.4 front 2.4 rear
Heavy load 2.4 front 2.6 rear.

                  Same then as 17" then?
Its just that they appear to be very bouncy at that pressure
                  Thanks for all the replies
                  I think I'll reduce them by 2psi.
                  EDIT:
Just spoken to my local tyre fitter....he recommends 34psi all round

With the 16" wheels you will want to have the pressures at 2.4 BAR all around and when carrying heavy loads 2.4 BAR at front with 2.6 BAR at the back.

                      2.4 bar is 34.8psi

If they felt "bouncy" lowering the air pressure will only make it more so but this would be a characteristic of the softer sidewall on the winter tire and would leave the air pressure alone.
