  • Locating the oil filter

    Hi guys.

I'm horrible at using the search function.

Could someone just point out where the oil filter is located on my 150THP??
I was looking under the hood, under the car, and I can't seem to find the plastic container that's supposed to hold the filter.
    How blind am I??

Thanks in advance for any help.

cyclone posted a pic back in 2012 but unfortunately when the forum went flakey it's been lost, hopefully he will see this and can still access the photo he had in 2012

Took some new pics to show the location of the oil filter on the 1.6 liter engines

Over view pic the blue air tube is nonstandard normal tube is black plastic.

This pic is with the air tube from the filter box to turbo and the air inlet that directs air to the area behind the headlight removed.

With the forward portion of the lower air tube removed.

A cose up of that last pic to show the actual filter housing.

Apols for the thread revival, but where Cyclone has indicated the oil filter housing in the last piccie- does that black cover actually hold the filter and therefore needs undoing?
Seems a bit tight on mine and dont wanna force it

Or is it a cover, with a nut underneath

Best remove the filter once the old oil removed?
Daft questions i know, but not going into Citroen every 5k miles for oil and filter- gotta get it right :-)

Ed- last time i did a filter/oil change, u stuck a screwdriver thru the filter and unscrewed the whole lot!

Chris, just put a socket and ratchet on the big hex shaped nut and undo, 7-8 turns and it's off. A bit messy but I'm sure you'll work it out

When they designed the engine, the started with that filter and just built around it.
