  • Permanent live

Hi everyone, I've had a look on the Internet but can't find andifinative answer and the local dealership can't help, no surprise there then! Anyhow, I've just ordered my new shiny black vue dash cam and want to hard wire it in as one of the features allows the camera to record when the cars parked up to catch any car park dings, it has a motion sensor fitted and only uses 3 watts so won't drain the battery. I need to know if there is a permanant live available in the dashboard fuse box which I can piggyback off? Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

I think this has been covered already on here but the biggest issue you are going to have is the ECU's economy mode where is powers down all the systems on the car to avoid voltage drain. As far as I'm aware there is no work around.

For my horn, I ran a live feed from the battery in between a fuse.

The washer line for the back window runs through a tiny rubber grommet located in between the A pillar and the drivers foot well, it's a bitch to get to but that would be the best way of running a permanent live without voiding your warranty.

^ I was referring to the Eco Mode, but running a feed straight from the battery should work.
