  • Strange headrest holes and wonky exhaust

    Hi there,

Just wondering if anyone else had noticed if their headrests had a hole underneath. Mine have and for some strange reason they have paper (with French writing and the Citroen/Peugeot logos on) shoved in them. So I'm assuming it's been done at some point at the factory. I've also noticed that the exhaust is ever so slightly not level.

Has anyone else noticed anything with their?

    Cheers
    James

Couldn't comment on the hole in the headrest but the angle of the exhaust is due to a corroded/broken bracket I reckon.

Get it into a workshop to replace, if you complain enough Citroen might offer to do it under warranty.

Oh ok cool. It's booked in on Tuesday, they better do it under warranty it's only 8 weeks old haha (well it left the show room 8 weeks ago) it's probably older than that really :-P

As Liam said the exhaust will most probably be a corroded bracket. Strange that both your headrests have a hole in them with paper, i can't see any accessories or any parts which require a hole in the headrest. Have you typed the writing into Google to see what it translates?

Holes in the headrests look normal - mine are just the same. The paper was probably just a piece of production documentation.

Your pipes look normal too me, by nature of the exhaust hanging there will be a little lean to one side. Granted there maybe some adjustment.

The holes are to do with production and storage as far as I'm led to believe. Nothing to worry about

Ah never thought of that lol. I'm not fussed just seems a bit odd that they shoved paper in them lol. I know the exhaust isn't major off but it's still annoying me lol

Surely that can't be right Biggy...

Any chance you could grab a photo of a factory fresh one for comparison?

                    ^

Just been having a look through the Photo Hoover and you can see a few where the left exit pipe is slightly lower than the right hand side, grant one or two do have a more level exhaust. Should be an easy adjustment of the bracket to level them up again.

I'd check with your Tech's Big and see how many you've had back for the bracket being corroded.. I doubt it's an uncommon issue, especially on the DSport.

Might be worthwhile submitting to your higher-ups for an info-rapide to speed up warranty work maybe?

I think my exhaust is a bit lower on the left too, but it may as well be an optical illusion. I've never measured it from the ground..

Bracket corrosion.................on a 63 plate? surely not. Careless fitting at the factory I should think

My 10 plate is still going strong
