  • ecu/abs unit faulty

hi everyone this is my first thread so please bare with me.
right where do i start my wife was driving home from work when a light came on saying please stop braking system failure so my wife stopped we called the aa and they said he thinks its the sensors on the wheels that were fault,y anyway took it to Citroen where they said they will have a look at it and let us now, we did mention to them that it had only been out of warranty for 7 weeks they said they will see what they can do.
it took a week for them to get back to us saying that seeing as we had our service and mot done at dales (this is the garage we bought the car from ) they would only pay 50% towards the cost which we thought ok as they said this is all citroen is willing to pay. now the Citroen garage looked at our car and came back saying that the ecu/abs unit had gone which was going to cost £1400 and this was no fault of ours now i was really annoyed as this was a manufactures fault and not mine i phoned Citroen direct but to no avail.
now i phone the citroen garage saying go ahead with it as i needed my car back, he said he will order the part this was the 14/1 and it should be here by 15/1 fine now the 21/1 i phoned Citroen again asking how my car is going and he said he thinks it is in the work shop but he will check and get back to me, 30 mins later he phones and says the part had only turned up today now i am bloo--y fuming and it is booked in for Friday 24/1 anyway this will be now 2.5 weeks they have had my car and they wouldn't give us a lone car as it was part being paid by citroen so i have been out of a car for all this time using taxis and buses as i work nights.
has anybody else had this problem and is there anything else that i could do i i don't this i should pay seeing as they said it was no fault of ours.
    we have a Citroen ds3 1.6 d-style.

Best bet is to get a case logged with CitroenUK so they can investigate the issue fully (this may add to the amount of time it takes to get resolved

I've known a 110 hdi to have problems similar to that.

I think you are doing ok with them offering to pay 50%. It is out of warranty, not long out but out and there has to be a cut off point somewhere. Now as to the rest typical Citroen shitty customer service. Taking forever to get parts and install them not caring at all about the costs a person incurs in having their car sitting broken at the workshop.

Think a sw update might have sorted it.

thank to everyone for your comments yes i now Citroen are doing me a favor by putting up 50% so i will bight the bullet on that but i am very disappointed about the service i have received they don't care less about the customers after the warranty has run out i must of spent £300 in the last 2.5 weeks on taxis and buses as i work nights and where i live there are no buses at that time of night anyway thx again to you all i will think again in the future with regards to buying a shitty Citroen.
