  • Fog light question

I find it really annoying that the front fogs are activated before the rear ones, reason being that the front ones just bounce back at you off the fog and you end up with a white glare ahead of you. Older cars in the past that have fog lights operating off of one switch in the same way the DS ones work activate the rear ones first. So my question is this, with the use of the Lexia tool can the fogs be reprogrammed for the fronts to come on first?

It's probably due to the car being LHD as standard.

As the DS3's been converted to RHD you'd expect a few things to be backwards.....

Nnnno, I have LHD and it's the same way and I find it very annoying too. And mainly because in winter when it's snowing rear fog light is very useful but because you have to have the front one on too, it's no use and here the use is illegal if there's not any fog. Raagh!

Edit: Maybe just take the front fog lights' fuse off? Or does that generate an error message?

Using rear footlights is stupid, dangerous and illegal (in many territories) if visibility is over 100m, the fact that it is impossible to turn them on and blind following drivers is a good idea imo.

Try reading the post again Berty, I think you've missed the point completely. I'm referring to how they operate, and another point which also allows for abuse when used incorrectly by people who tend to either drive around with them on unnecessarily or think they look cool using them with sidelights instead of using dipped beam under normal conditions.

Hey Biggie, I was rather hoping what with you being the font of all knowledge that you'd be the person that would know if the Lexia tool could be used to reprogram the fog lights.

Probably not if it's the same on LHD cars. The Lexia is good but it's not THAT good lol

It's not hard to roll the stalk twice...

Far as I believe there is no work around I'm afraid. Only option I can suggest is to replace the stalk with one from a c3 vt which only offers rear lights on its switch.

Of course the other option would be to reach up under the front and pull the two plugs out...
