Last year I noticed that both the coolant and brake fluid levels were below the minimum markers.
I topped the brake fluid up straight away and contacted the dealer I purchased the car from. I was told to keep an eye on the brakes, look out for any leaks and just top the coolant up with water.
As the car was less than a year old I was unsurprisingly not impressed with their response.
I took my car to the dealer and they told me the coolant loss must have been an air-lock from the factory and not to worry.
But two weeks ago I noticed the coolant level was again below the minimum marker.
My car was inspected today by the dealer. They told me that they couldn’t find any leaks in the system so they spoke to a ‘service expert’.
He has said that coolant loss is standard with this engine as the turbo gets so hot; it makes the coolant literally disappear.
I’m naturally a little sceptical about their statement, so was wondering if anyone else has had any similar issues or been told the same thing?
Thanks.
