Top up Engine Oil Warning!!!!

So after cleaning my car today I started it up and got a warning beep and a message saying top up engine oil. ..... I do check my oil every couple of months so was a bit surprised? I checked it and to be honest im worried now that I have been reading it wrong. The dipstick isnt the easiest to read?!??!

Just put a litre in it and the warning is still on. Booked into garage next week.

Anybody got any experiences with this warning?

Yes quite a few times. First message was at 6k miles. Put a litre in. Was ok till 19k. Left that till first service. Had it recently again at about 35k. Litre put in again.

My first full service is due April 6th...ive put a litre for now. I assume they will do a full oil change at this service? Its the 2yr service.

They did a full oil change on mine at 20k, age 9 months old.
2nd service at 40k is due in about a month, age 18 months old

Ohhh....? ..I had first semi service check up at 12months 8k miles (plus a timingchain changed) and now a full service at 24months 17k miles. Blimey you are doing some miles aint ya!?!?!

This happened to me as well topped oil up at garage drove home still saying oil low rang dealers spoke to master tech light is on timer and can take a while to register full again.Monitored this did 1000 miles and went back to be checked said that it was within the allowed usage for citroen.Doesn't matter any more dealership had to fit new engine at their cost.( long story )

Im going to keep a close eye on it now. Its going for full service soon anyway so all will be refreshed then :-)

Just had my third service, 39000 miles, car 11 month old now, not had that warning so far, 1.6 hdi 90.

It's the mileage, every 12500 or 1 year, whichever comes first.

NOT that it's THAT critical, but, where on the upper BLOB is 'MAX' then ??
[middle ?, top?, bottom?]
The manual has the 'old' style picture with a flat blade stick with 2 little
cut-outs for MIN and MAX........haven't got that type !!

BTW, my 155 seems to use about 1-1.5 L in about 10,000 miles ??
I reckon for a small highly strung turbo that's not too bad.

BTW (2), the OIL OK lamp was still on with the DIPSTICK reading just
above the MIN.........not too happy about that really.....prefer the
Nissan/Renault 0000000, ------- system !?!?

I found it extremely difficult to see where the oil level was ?!?!?!?!? The dip stick is rubbish on the :ds3:
