  • All go, no blow?

Coming back from Cornwall today, during a downpour on the m25 the heaters stopped blowing out air! Was making all the correct noises but no matter what setting I put the blowers on it was like an asthmatic after a marathon  popped into the dealer on the way home - they took it in and low and behold it started working again. Im beginning to think my car misses the dealer lol

    Anyone else experienced anything similar?

Could of been a blockage in the heater matrix stopping the flow of heated water, sometimes it can clear itself when you turn the car off and on again. Maybe the system could do with flushing out to be sure.

It was warm air coming out - but there just wasn't any ooomph behind it to get to the screen and windows that were fogging up! Say for instance the air flow diverter wasn't fully engaged to the screen direction or something, only the air just wasn't coming out anywhere!

Normally I'd check the fuses to ensure the fan is still working ok, with yours though it started working again at the dealer ? Sounds like a small electrical fault doesn't it?

The fans were all working - well sounding like they were - but no air was coming out.

I put it on every single setting possible... nowt. Even the front screen demist... was getting to the point where we were going to have to pull over because we couldn't see! Not even the vent in the centre console was blowing out air!

When we got to the dealer it still wasn't working but after it had sat for a few minutes before it got taken in to the workshop it started working and blowing air out as it should! If I had been on my own no body would have believed me, but the OH was driving and witnessed it!

Sounds like some of the internal air flaps that guide the air around the ducts were malfunctioning or broken. I don't know if it works this way but when turning off the car and after a few minutes I hear a whirring sound like inside the air ducts. Could it be that the intake air duct is blocked when the engine is not running? Just a guess.

Is that what that noise is ? I thought it was the AC pumping out ?

Well at least the sound I'm hearing is. You can also notice it when starting the car - at first the sound of air moving is louder (flap closed or on internal circulation mode) and after a few seconds no additional noise. And of course it depends on how high your fan setting is.
