  • Service Light flashed on

Right so my previous car was one I just bought to run till I die so I paid no attention to the service lights, however now I have something I love, every little thing seems to bother me. So I got my car at the start of December on 16,XXX miles and it's now on 20,XXX so nowhere near either of the service intervals, and the garage I got it from (Main Dealer) told me it was fully serviced and the interval reset when I picked it up, book stamped.

So today I was just driving along, giving it a bit if it makes any difference, and it beeped and the service light came on then went off after a few seconds? Does this mean it thinks it is due a service? As surely I am not close to any of the intervals? Should I just ring the garage and ask?

Is it just the service light or does the spanner icon flash inside the fuel gauge as well?

I've not seen the spanner, however today when driving I have noticed it is only when I am at 80+ on the motorway that it comes on, and it says possible filter blockage, I assume it means the DPF, could this be anything to do with the remap? Need to know before I ring the garage really.

Stay under 79 problem solved xD

Although the dpf is meant to self clean on mintorway speeds I think...

I don't believe the remap will have caused the DPF to become blocked JakeWazza, from my basic understanding that is likely to be caused by incomplete regenerations allowing the diesel soot to build up inside the filter....

I've never really understood how the DS3 decides when it's going to clean the filter, I think the cleaner is added when you fill up the tank but I've thought before it would be handy if Citroen had allowed you to start the regeneration when you went on a long motorway journey. Once I noticed it running when I drove the 10miles to work

The service light is not the annual maintenance service indicator. Only the spanner is. Most of the time something is wrong with the engine or sensors is the service light comes on.

It has stopped now, even at high speed, not sure if it was an incomplete regeneration, or a misread sensor. Pretty scared that it has just stopped, not in the mood for breaking down in the future!
