  • 1st year service

My DS3 is 12 months old and has 11000+ miles on it Citroen rang me the other day to arrange it to be booked in for its first service , I have the 3 year free service plan so no cost to me or so I thought when the girl on the Phone stated that my engine will need a full flush before they put new oil in and that the fuel system would also need a flush out now its only a £50 charge but can anyone tell me if these procedures are really necessary and also the Aircon filter will be replaced too .
    If in Doubt FLAT OUT!!!!!!!!

    Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?!?!?!

    Absolutely not.

Your service is paid for, you should not be paying any money out of your own pocket.

Definitely should NOT be chargeable....my current car has been in for two services, an oil level management fault issue and an engine coolant system fault all repaired/replaced with no quibble from the garage at all.

You may need to tell then you have the deal. Maybe they didn't realise?

Is the flush really necessary or are they just trying to book more services to get more money?

I think the flush helps clean the engine out doesn't it ? I'm pretty sure they shouldn't be charging an additional amount for this if the owner has the service pack though....

They are added services. Not part of the normal service and not needed they just want to make some more money. Just tell them no and to do the normal service. It is all you or the car needs.

As Cycles has said the oil change is not really required until year two, doing it now needs that the work is not covered by the Service Plan and therefore is a chargeable job.

There is no harm in having the oil done with a full flush and to me the price is not that bad for this service.
