  • oil leak back of engine THP 155 petrol

Hi there I have an oil leak at the back of my engine. It appears to be coming from a 32 mm sized bolt or bung of some sort just below the head gasket on the right hand side. its not a huge leak but an annoying one. I've had people look at it and they have said it' difficult to get to and the best they can do is put a sealant round it and hope it cures it to which they were going to charge me £140. It could be a matter of just changing a washer or gasket. has anyone had a similar problem and how did they go about fixing it? Would it be worth putting some lucus oil sealant or something similar in the engine and hope that cures it?

Thanks for any help it will be greatly appreciated!

Could you post a picture, with things like oil leaks, they tend to get worse rather than heal themselves, id get it looked at by a professional, failing that a Citroen mechanic.

Unfortunately getting a picture is easier said then done as it can only be seen from under ramps and its deep inside the engine bay.

Just something showing the general area might be enough.

It's possibly the timing chain tensioner leaking...27mm head size. You can get to it if you take the airbox and the boost pipe off.
Might just need tightening a little, it seals with an alloy washer. For £35 you would be wise to just replace it with a new one.

Bet its a pain to get at and replace the tensioner- then youve got to sort the timing out too?
