  • Rear Seat Belt Jammed

I had the back seat down yesterday, trying to get it back upright again the centre seatbelt appears to be jammed.

Anyone know how to get this fixed?

I'm confused, is the rear seat jammed or the seatbelt ? If the latter is the seat securely fastened ? Try releasing the seat and pulling it up hard to ensure it locks correctly. If the seat is secured the seat belt should work again

It's the seatbelt which is jammed. It has locked up and is stopping the left rear section of the back seat from being put upright again.

If you hold the button to release the seats does that help at all ?

What has happened here is the seat belt has locked because you pulled the seat up to fast, this happens a lot if you have the belt clipped into the buckle.

The only thing to try is to gently pull the belt to free it off other wise you will need to unbolt the seat in order to give the seat belt room to retract correctly.

My car came with a little plastic button in the belt so it can not retract far enough to cause this.

True, but if the seat belt was put into the buckle/clip (whatever it's called!) then the belt would move as the seat goes up and down. If you pull the seat fast enough then the belt reacts like it was in an accident.

                      Nope just tried, jammed solid.

The belt wasn't clipped into the buckle.

How difficult a job is in bolting the seat? Just had a look and can't see how to do it. Would this be covered under warranty?

The job in my opinion may be covered, best advice would be to speak to your dealer.

I spoke to the dealer today ( or the receptionist at least) and she said it wouldn't be covered by the warranty.

Also mentioned that there is some distortion with listening to music from my phone via Bluetooth and was told by our expert receptionist this will also not be covered and I'd be charged a £50 "diagnostic fee" to see if there is a fault.

Needless to day I declined, will be getting my local mechanic to fix the seatbelt. Pity it is the only Citroen dealer within a 90 minute drive of me!
