ESP System Failure

hi all only 2000kms on the new HDi 115 Dsport and this morning with cold engine just 1km down the road the traction control light came on, there was a beep and ESP System Failure came up on the dash display. pulled over restarted and error cleared? called the dealer who booked me in for this PM and after an hour or so and a couple of test drives handed her back with no fault found explaining it as an intermittent fault, told me to keep an eye on it and contact them if it recurs, so if any of you have seen or heard of same issue please let me know

yep should have popped the phone out and taken a pic of the message to show the dealer (i did search for previous threads but will take a look now thanks)

I had that fault as well.. 110hdi. It turned out I needed a new fuel filter

right had a read of that and although similar the warning message said nothing about repair just the ESP System Failure message the beep and the ESP/ASR light on
but thanks will see what a cold start tomorrow brings

As per the thread it the fault message does appear to be a catch all for potential issues and doesn't really provide clear guidance.

Maybe it was a bit of blockage in the fuel system (always use good clean diesel) .... the error that comes up on screen isnt always the actual source of the problem.. its probably minor. Even if the fault doesn't come up again I would still inform citroen as soon as possible as it should NOT happen to a brand new car in the first place !

had just refuelled the night before and from just on the warning light so maybe stirred up some crap, going like a train this morning not a peep out of her
