Sounds more like a dodgy cable to me. Does it do the same with different aux cables?

If it still fails with multiple cables, I'd get your dealer to look at it and replace the aux port.

What Wenham said - common fault with cheap 3.5mm jack cables.

Look at replacing it with a braided cable at the least and see if the issue persists.

At first I had the same issue, it was a cheap 3.5mm cable which was the issue!

Ive had the same, just changed the cable to another, cant remember whether the one that worked was more or less expensive that the one that didn't.

Try rubbing the plug with a little wire wool to see if that improves the connection, otherwise it's new cable time.
