  • Going in to Citroen - Chance of them noticing a Remap?

Okay so a few months ago I had a problem where my Service light would flash on and it would say Risk of Filter Clogging, the DPF I am assuming.

Now it just stopped again before I even got it to Citroen, however now it is coming on every single Journey.

I was just wondering what are the chances on Citroen noticing that the car has been remapped when I take it in to get looked at this weekend?

Also could the Remap have anything to do with the problem?

    Thanks

I was hoping I would get to take them out to show the problem, I do mostly motorway so I'm not sure why it's happening, done 3 20+ mile motorway journeys this week.

Most likely they will plug it in and force a regeneration of the pollution system. No drive needed.

Usually sit around 80, so if I make a special journey it could clear the blockage?

However if they just force a regeneration that should be fine.

Haha I might take it for a blast down the motorway tomorrow night

Removal might be the only way if Citroen notice the remap haha, not in the mood for paying to get it fixed!

Gave it a 20 mile drive up the M6 at 75 in 4th, still nothing, so turned round and shot it home at 95 and it seems to have cleared at the moment, will see what happens when I take it to work tomorrow.

                      On a private road, obviously....

Good to hear you've managed to clear it!

I need one of those !

Seriously though, I wish Citroen allowed for you to select the DPF regeneration when you were on a long journey, twice in the past year I've got home and the things is running a regeneration. I don't like to turn it off even though the dealer claimed it would be ok and would restart it at some point. If I could elect to start one on one of my 1 hour drives I'd be much happier

To be honest with you speed has nothing to do with it really, it's all down to the engine temperature and exhaust temperature. Check out the video in my repository thread
